Why play it

You're trapped in hell, and the only way out is to beat the devil at its own game. With the help of a mysterious entity known only as 'The Arbiter,' navigate through ominous surroundings and place talismans on cursed objects while trying to survive the many traps and foes lurking in the shadows.

Story and worldbuilding

The Devil is in the Details, is an Anomaly detection -meets- Escape Room - meets Survival Horror hybrid, played from a first-person perspective. You find yourself trapped in a hellish mansion. Each step forward is a gamble in this ever-changing nightmare, where no two playthroughs are alike. Explore and investigate your surroundings and try to beat the devil at his own game, by placing talismans on cursed objects, while trying to survive with limited resources against the many deadly traps and foes that lurk in the shadows, as well as having to deal with the pranks demons and the devil throw at you.

The Devil is in the Details blends eerie design with anomaly spotting and hidden puzzles, offering freedom of play and tons of scares and variety for replay, though not every trick lands.

The Devil is in the Details is easily the most ambitious anomaly-hunting game yet, with traps, enemies and entities for you to avoid as you go around watching out for anomalous items. Some of these don't always make the experience better, though, but you can at least enable and disable them as you please.

The Devil is in the Details is a fun and unique take on the "spot the difference" genre. It throws you into a maze with dozens of objects to memorize, scares you with jump scares, sends ghosts and monsters after you, and often plays tricks to further impede your progress. To top it all off, as you attempt to survive all of these horrors, you still need to recall what changed perfectly, or else you fail and will be sent back to a previous checkpoint. The game is challenging as a memory game alone, but this added layer of horror is what truly makes it unique and a game players can return to time and time again. While the game itself may be short, its replay value is endless.
