However, Mindcop stumbles in how overwhelming it can be at times, penalising your mistakes and lacking just enough direction so you're often running around like a headless chicken.

I can’t recommend this game enough. I’m a sucker for good storytelling and mystery-solving. Though a bit short, Mindcop tells a captivating story with interesting characters and unique gameplay mechanics. If you’re the type of person who likes narrative video games and detective work, you will absolutely love Mindcop and its perfectly executed cartoonish noir aesthetic.

Surreal, irreverent but also deeply dark and dreamlike. A deep and multifaceted story, one of the best investigation experiences, a cross between a recent Cartoon Network product and True Detective, with a few sprinkles of Twin Peaks-style lysergic acid dissociation This game has three flaws: the risk of having to lose a run for not having put together clues and dialogues in the right way (and it's not easy) and the mechanic of moving time forward, and by the third/fourth run, once you have seen everything and spoken/mindsurfed with everyone, the game becomes quite repetitive.

Mindcop is an entertaining noir detective game that is a welcome addition to a coveted genre of other great titles. Its three-dimensional characters have enough dilemmas and conflicts to make you stray off the case and dig into their own backstories. The writing has a profound balance between melancholy and humor that it will occasionally sprinkle in some wholesome beats. Despite the time management mechanic being somewhat harsh on your actions, Mindsurf and Sea of Thoughts are two gameplay components that make the experience understandable and easy to manage for casual players. Regardless of its few flaws, those are far outweighed by the creative gameplay, unique art style, and strong writing, which tie everything together wonderfully.
