Quilts and Cats of Calico is a fantastic digital puzzle version of the board game Pelíšek, full of brain teasers that will really put your mind to the test. It’s a beautiful and satisfying game that won’t get on your nerves, thanks to its pleasant background music. It’s the perfect choice for cat lovers and board game enthusiasts. Personally, I prefer this PC version to the board game because it offers new logic puzzles in Story Mode and the Master Quilter’s Challenges. Plus, you don’t have to deal with the time-consuming setup and cleanup of game components.

Even as someone who likes cats and puzzles – in other words, the target audience – I wouldn’t say I’d recommend Quilts and Cats of Calico unless you’re already a fan of the board game. No matter how cute and cuddly it may present itself as, the reality is much more demanding.

With several different modes and solo and online play at your fingertips, Quilts and Cats of Calico is the type of game you can go back to again and again. Challenging yet wholesome, we love its unique brand of puzzle that manages to test your brain while also providing an ideal tool for relaxation. Whether you’re familiar with the Calico board game or not, this is a PC puzzler worth checking out.

While it is definitely a casual game it is a very enjoyable way to pass the time with friends or by yourself as well as the enjoyable cast of cats.

Building upon its source board game in utterly delightful ways, Quilts and Cats of Calico is an absolute winner both as a digital adaptation of a board game and a new entry in the crowded cozy gaming genre.

Overall, I’m super happy with my time with Quilts and Cats of Calico. I haven’t finished the game just yet, but I can tell I’m pretty close to the end. I love the puzzles; I love making my own cats and taking on NPCs in quilting challenges. I’m super happy that I got to see the final product; it did not disappoint.
