Still, residual goodwill from the original helped us overlook the mechanical simplicity this time. We're keen to see Waterzooi stretch himself on his next gallery jaunt, but we'd recommend getting your hands on this one regardless.

Please, Touch The Artwork 2 has a few original concepts, like making many paintings feel connected, but the gameplay is uninteresting, slow and sometimes annoying. It may be a game for art lovers, but gamers are probably better off looking elsewhere.

Waterzooi has crafted a vessel of expression that I see and I adore because of what it is, not what it could be. There’s hints that there may be more chapters in the future, and I, for one, would be thrilled to see even more expansion into this realm. Please, Touch the Artwork 2 thrills me with a simple concept delivered with polish, poise and aplomb.

Please, Touch the Artwork 2 is delightful. Its beautiful paintings, quirky characters, and lovely music combine to create a playful outing that provides a true form of escape. This short but sweet outing will stick with you after the credits roll.

Ultimately, Please, Touch The Artwork 2 is more than just a look-and-find game. It's an interactive celebration of art history, a heartfelt homage to James Ensor, and a clever reimagining of how we engage with artwork. Even with its brevity, it's rich with intention, charm, and creativity. I walked away not just entertained, but genuinely more curious about Ensor and the world he captured. I really enjoyed my time with this game. It's a wonderful example of how video games can serve as both art and education, gently guiding players to learn about important artists and their work in an engaging, hands-on way. I'd love to see more developers explore this path of teaching through interactivity, one masterpiece at a time.

While absolutely gorgeous, and a pretty decent casual bit of puzzle-solving and adventure, it’s very short length is disappointing

The game teaches you more about James Ensor in a playful way, and perhaps even more importantly: it invites you to really look. At art, at details, at the stories behind the work. Please, Touch the Artwork 2 was made with great care and love by solo developer Thomas Waterzooi and knows how to combine art and play in an accessible way. It is creative, relaxing and above all original. It is therefore a pity that you get through it quickly, and the price tag is on the high side. But if you have any interest in old artists, it is good to support this game, hopefully we will get a nice compilation with all the Belgian masters.

For those who love art and are interested in new ways to showcase paintings this game is a must. It's an interesting take on the hidden object genre of games too. As I said earlier the wavy animation featured in all of the paintings meant eye strain was a real issue. I have a little interest in art and found this game really interesting.

Please, Touch The Artwork 2 is an incredibly immersive and evocative experience that tells a story. Its developer, Thomas Waterzooi, has gifted us a true gem, through which we now know so much not only about Belgian art, but about art in general, without ever being didactic. He entrusted us with everything, merely allowing us to touch the artwork.
