Slightly above average or simply inoffensive. Fans of the genre should enjoy them a bit, but a fair few will be left unfulfilled. Outbound is a cozy, visually striking van-life adventure game that nails atmosphere and customization, but struggles to keep its open world engaging.
Read full review ↗Outbound is a relaxing journey that will please anyone who wants to get away without going anywhere. Extensive exploration and a satisfying gameplay loop make for a joyful experience, and it's easy to lose hours to driving around in your camper, collecting logs and unlocking new biomes. A few visual and control gripes might form bumps in the road, but otherwise this is a fun ride.
Read full review ↗Outbound is an interesting and fun game, one that a lot of people will like because it’s cozy and it brings a great sense of adventure.
Read full review ↗Outbound is exactly the type of game you play after a long day at work and get your energy back, like your eco-friendly car. You don't have to worry about danger and you enjoy relaxation and well-being while playing. The game will also surprise you with its extensive possibilities for crafting, exploring and building your mobile base.

Read full review ↗In that way, Outbound is kind of like real-life camping. Freed from any burdensome goals, you’re merely soaking in the sights and enriching your experience.
Read full review ↗Outbound is a gently paced, cosy camper game encouraging creative home building and exploration in beautifully varied biomes. With developer, Square Glade Games, highlighting a roadmap of upgrades and add-ons to come in the next few months, there's plenty of reasons to jump in your camper and join in the fun.
Read full review ↗Despite its appealing premise and relaxing facade, Outbound struggles to justify the time (and price) it demands. The slow pacing, repetitive resource gathering, lifeless world design, and lack of meaningful progression drain the experience of excitement as well as comfort. The campervan customisation and eco-friendly concept attached show promise, yet the gameplay loop quickly turns into a mind-numbing chore rather than a therapeutic past time.
Read full review ↗Outbound offers plenty of pretty vistas to virtually photograph, but very little in the way of meaningful gameplay.
Read full review ↗Outbound is a cozy survival game in which you travel through an open world in an electric camper and slowly transform your vehicle into a mobile home along the way. The game combines exploration, crafting and building with a relaxed atmosphere that is mainly about freedom and creativity. Thanks to the strong road trip vibe and the relaxing gameplay, Outbound is a nice experience for players who like to play at their own pace, although the game sometimes lacks some variation in the longer term.
