Clunky controls, gameplay that feels more punishing than rewarding, and technical issues keep me from experiencing the “breathtakingly beautiful journey” the game promises. Nova Antarctica is simply a complete miss.

Nova Antarctica offers a charming, endearing, and adventure-filled survival journey with plenty of crafting, exploration, and world-building. It has a lot of great ideas and a strong sense of atmosphere, but the rough edges, UI frustrations, and mechanical inconsistencies can hold it back. There is a rewarding experience here, but you need patience to push through its quirks.

Nova Antarctica is a charming, if at times challenging, combination of survival-crafting mechanics and platforming. While it’s got its great and charming moments, a lot of little issues can hold the game back, making it slow or outright frustrating to play and leaving the player with a feeling that the game itself just isn’t totally finished.

Nova Antarctica is a survival game that focuses entirely on resource management, reading the environment and the ability to adapt. It's not for everyone, but it knows how to be remembered.

Nova Antarctica delivers strong visuals and a compelling concept, but uneven execution holds it back. Crafting, meant to be a core mechanic, feels poorly integrated and often more tedious than rewarding, while the weak tutorial leaves key systems underexplained. Still, the game’s cozy atmosphere and occasional story highlights help balance out its rough edges. For players who enjoy exploring harsh, post-apocalyptic worlds and don’t mind some undercooked mechanics, Nova Antarctica offers a decent survival experience that falls short of its full potential.

Nova Antarctica is set in the year 2900, when Antarctica has become a dangerous and mysterious continent. As the protagonist, you follow a mysterious radio signal to the Antarctic, while trying to survive in snowstorms and abandoned research stations. The game combines survival and crafting with choices that influence your adventure. You collect resources, craft items and manage your backpack and equipment against harsh weather conditions. The pace of the game is slow and constantly re-collecting resources can be frustrating. For those who enjoy quiet, challenging exploration, Nova Antarctica offers a unique, atmospheric experience.
