Night Swarm is a well-crafted isometric action roguelite RPG that combines a dark atmosphere, addictive gameplay, and strategic character-building options; and although it has a few minor flaws, it offers an entertaining and replayable experience for fans of the genre.

Night Swarm delivers fast-paced roguelite combat with strong visual identity and engaging build crafting, but uneven balance and progression pacing hold it back from lasting greatness.

Night Swarm is a Vampire Survivor clone that keeps the fangs in tack. Embody a man who is fighting for his right to sit on his throne as his fellow vampires try to kill him. The story is fed to you bit by bit as you complete runs in this roguelike, seeming to imitate the feeling of Hades. Roam the castle you live in to find several mechanics to use and upgrade, and then drop into a run of monster-infested torment.

It has taken a lot of the foundation of the genre and built only mildly upon it rather than reshape it into more of it’s own image. What is there is at least enough to earn Night Swarm the Thumb Culture Silver Award.
