I Expect You to Die captures the tension, revelations, and exhilaration of a last-second escape in virtual reality.

It can be hard to find a good entry point for virtual reality gaming when some titles are quite complex and others feel like the VR component is unnecessary.

I Expect You to Die provides everything I want in VR room escape type of game. Objects are easy to manipulate, the puzzles don't require great leaps of non-intuitive logic to solve, and the experience itself is quite entertaining. It can look spendy at full price, but it's on Steam so it' just a matter of waiting for a sale.

Putting you into cunning espionage themed escape rooms, I Expect You To Die is a fun VR puzzler with a charming sense of humour and dozens of ways to die. Sadly, there’s only a handful missions to take on, making this yet another VR game that’s over before it’s had a chance to really get started.

I Expect You To Die is a silly game that doesn't expect you to take it all that seriously, even if it does expect you to die in some pretty nasty ways. I drowned. I suffocated. I got shot. I had my head taken off by a laser beam. I had a bloody good time. It's just a shame that it's over within a few short hours and that the replay value isn't especially high. Dare I say that I would actually like some DLC for this game? Hell yes.

The life of a spy is often glamorized in media, and particularly in games, but few have ever asked you to solve and survive the treacherous puzzles of a devious foe the same way as I Expect You to Die.

I Expect You to Die provides a very strong sense of wonder, a great control system and exciting missions. Its only limitation is the length of the main plot that could be completed just in a couple of hours.

I Expect You to Die is able to keep the player engaged throughout and further drills home the point that simplicity in VR is the way to go.

Autonomous discovery and the corresponding gratification that comes with it makes I Expect You to Die a testament to how effective VR can be in terms of involvement.

More than just a ‘locked in a room’ simulator, I Expect You To Die! Is a masterful use of VR and the Move controllers. The puzzles are just challenging enough to be fun, while not so easy as to be obvious. My only complaint is that the game is relatively short, but the promise of a sequel has me ready to hand over my money. You need this game in your VR library.
