I think Hidden Through Time 2: Myths & Magic struggles trying to turn what is essentially a 5-minute activity book into a fully fledged game, and it just isn’t fleshed out enough to make it engaging. Once you’ve played for 10-minutes, you have experienced all there is, and if you’re looking for something a little more enticing then this isn’t the game for you. I do still think that if you’re the type of person who enjoys games where you don’t have to engage your brain and just like to pass the time with a harmless task then this could be worth playing (as long as you’re ok with long loading screens).

As a kid, I used to adore the likes of Where’s Wally? and Hidden Through Time 2: Myths and Magic fills me with those same warm and cosy feelings I had all those years ago scanning busy scenes and gleefully checking off another tough find. A perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch and a perfect game for those looking for something far more chill.

Hidden Through Time 2: Myths & Magic is fun, but some significant issues (at least on Switch) make it fall slightly short of its predecessor. It might be better to grab this one on sale or when DLC arrives (hopefully with a performance patch). Creative types might not want to wait that long.

Hidden Through Time 2 is the perfect relaxation game. There are no time limits, scores, penalties or major mistakes you can make. You can also play the game nicely together, an extra pair of eyes certainly helps and makes the game even more fun. It looks very colorful and with editor and hopefully an active community you can expect many more levels. The only frustration here is when you can't find the item. I must have spent tens of minutes looking for a spoon before finally finding it in a very logical place. The feeling of victory was great after finally finding that spoon and that is why these types of books and games have been popular for years.

Hidden Through Time 2: Myth & Magic brings a more of the same comfortable and fun hidden object search. I missed the aesthetic evolution, but the ambition was invested in the Architect mode for the creation and sharing of new levels, greatly increasing the possibilities of enjoying this lovely and relaxing game that, even if it is for only one player, can be enjoyed with the whole family.

Hidden Through Time 2: Myths & Magic is a great, enjoyable experience for me, and it’s worth the money if you’re a fan of the Hidden Object genre. My initial reaction was skepticism regarding Rogueside’s ability to separate this game from the previous in a way that would warrant a sequel rather than merely being a DLC offering; nonetheless, they were successful in doing so. Despite its seeming simplicity, the game offers endless activities.

An unusual title that feels like it would be perfect for even younger gamers, but may be too hard for them to stick with

Hidden Through Time 2 is a game that is fun to play in between. I personally would not play it in one piece because it will quickly become repetitive. It’s a very cool experience to play together with multiple people, especially when they shout the phrase “it’s over there” and you still don’t know where that is. This Belgian game is definitely one of the better search games on the console. It looks tremendously fun with its unique visual style and endless gameplay through the community’s created levels.
