Flesh Made Fear is a classic survival horror developed by Tainted Pact and funded via Kickstarter, resurrecting the essence of the early Resident Evil games and the works of horror masters like Romero, Cronenberg, and Lovecraft. With retro aesthetics inspired by the fifth console generation, fixed camera angles, and tank controls, the game blends action and horror in a story where the R.I.P. squad confronts scientist Victor Ripper and his grotesque creations in the city of Rotwood. Despite minor flaws in camera transitions, the title stands out for its nostalgic art direction, varied arsenal with strategic resource-management mechanics, challenging puzzles, and multiple endings that encourage replay. Packed with references to trash cinema and classic horror, the game delivers an engaging and creative experience, cementing itself as a solid and enjoyable option for genre fans.

Flesh Made Fear is a complete nostalgia blast for fans of survival horror. It creates a compelling package of well structured events set inside a believable world for its time. Cheesy dialogue, fixed camera angles, decent combat, multiple characters, and a lengthy campaign will satiate the most die hard fans of the genre, even if boss fights and puzzles are a little too easy.

Ultimately, Flesh Made Fear proves to be a solid and enjoyable tribute to old-school survival horror. While it doesn't invent anything new, borrows too much from RE, and is plagued by minor flaws and flaws like a poorly crafted user interface, subpar voice acting, and questionable enemy AI, Tainted Pact Games' title manages to hit the mark where it matters most. Thanks to a mesmerizing low-poly atmosphere, a beautiful CRT filter, and a truly beautiful '80s-inspired soundtrack, the game delivers a disturbing, nostalgic, and fun experience. If you love "tank" controls and Resident Evil-style fixed camera angles, Rotwood is definitely worth a look.

Flesh Made Fear is a solid horror game that draws inspiration from the classics with an interesting touch of modernization. However, a stricter revival of certain elements from the 1990s begins to reveal just how dated they are.

If you grew up manoeuvring pixelated corridors, juggling bullets, and cringing at brilliantly odd dialogue, Flesh Made Fear will feel like a dark homecoming. This is a game that rewards patience, curiosity, and a willingness to savour every tense moment rather than rushing to the end credits. Whether you are a long-time lover of survival horror or simply want a taste of what the genre was like before jump scares became a shortcut, Flesh Made Fear delivers a brooding journey that lingers long after you shut it down. Rotwood’s horrors may fade, but for those who truly appreciate its roots, the echoes of its atmosphere never really leave you.

Follow in the footsteps of a mad scientist who leaves a trail of monsters in his wake. It will take you back to the heyday of the Resident Evil and Silent Hill series. But beware: it's a strong retro vibe, with all the good and bad that comes with it.

Flesh Made Fear is a true love letter to the classics of the genre that have been enchanting, and terrifying, fans for so many years. The game truly manages to capture what made these titles unique, while presenting them in a retro style with modern conveniences for our comfort.
