Duskpunk

Duskpunk is excellent, a dark and dirty story of revolution, choice, and ultimately, hope, if you so choose. It's a fantastic Citizen Sleeper-like that stands on its own merits.

Duskpunk is a gritty, grimy, and gloomy game that makes up for its lack of interesting gameplay with a dismal narrative and an oppressively bleak atmosphere.

Duskpunk is an easy to grasp dice-based RPG with a good story to carry you along. It does make your character, who starts off with nothing, into someone that's far too important for too many factions very quickly, which undercuts the simple struggle to survive, but this does provide for some good story beats. If you enjoyed Citizen Sleeper, then you will probably enjoy Duskpunk.

A near‑complete narrative RPG that marries tabletop tension with rich worldbuilding and emotionally resonant writing. It’s one of those rare indie games where mechanics, art, and story amplify each other, producing a memorable, replayable experience that only stumbles in a few late‑game rhythms.

By far the strongest card in Duskpunk’s hand, the story kept me intrigued and looking for the next bite of lore. Whilst mired in mystery, the narrative follows a rich story of war and the steps people can go to avoid it. This is even more so in the dystopian world of Duskpunk. I found myself in the place of a soldier. Lost and confused in an unfamiliar place, equipped only with pain and horrific memories. After some brief text and some decision-making, I was cast out into the slums of a sprawling city. It was from here that the story began to open up to me. With NPCs to meet and richly detailed locations to explore. Each location and NPC interaction pulled me deeper into the story, and I began to feel as though I was entangled in the world itself. Truly brilliant story direction.

By the time the game came to its conclusion, I was left with an overwhelming yearning for a better future, and a feeling that that is something wholly achievable. Duskpunk is the kind of game that makes me feel hope.
