Daydream: Forgotten Sorrow is an underwhelming puzzle platformer. The eye-catching, whimsical environments simply aren't enough to salvage the poor storytelling and frustrating controls.
Read full review ↗Unfortunately, it just has too many issues with its gameplay to make it an enjoyable experience. It has some great ideas, but ultimately, it stumbles because it can’t decide what kind of a game it wants to be. Diehard fans of the genre might be able to overlook its frustrating controls, but most will get too annoyed to enjoy it.
Read full review ↗Daydream: Forgotten Sorrow looks to be a graphically stunning game that could reach the heights of its inspiration, but can only dream to do so because the rest of the game can’t quite reach the high bar set by its visual and art direction.
Read full review ↗Daydream: Forgotten Sorrow is an amazing experience that will leave you with some questions and give you some thinking for homework.
Read full review ↗With its successful design and a reasonable dose of sentimentality this game could have been one of the "unforgettable" experiences, unfortunately it falls into '"just okay" category because of its outdated mechanics and some bugs.
Read full review ↗Daydream: Forgotten Sorrow takes place in a wonderfully dark and unique world, but its gameplay and controls prevent it from becoming a stand-out indie adventure.
Read full review ↗Unfortunately, Daydream: Forgotten Sorrow is not a good tribute to some more classic games, like Limbo or Little Nightmares, and fails to deliver a memorable adventure, feeling way more frustrating than it should.
Read full review ↗Daydream: Forgotten Sorrow’s lack of originality is just a minor complaint compared to the fact that it doesn’t achieve what it sets out to do from a gameplay perspective. You can’t be a worthwhile puzzle-platformer when the platforming sections feature controls and physics and a field of depth that are this finicky.
Read full review ↗If you like the platformer Planet of Lana, you should also enjoy the story of a boy and his teddy bear... in theory. But, unfortunately, it is a little different in practice. Daydream can be a gaming nightmare.
Read full review ↗Daydream: Forgotten Sorrow is a wonderful sidescroller that shows great potential from a clearly passionate and skilled new developer. While there are some teething problems with the 3D elements of the game and some object collision issues that can make puzzles frustrating, the game definitely demonstrates what it does right far more than what it does wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing and can’t wait to see what Frozen Line will be up to next. Daydream: Forgotten Sorrow comes out on June 14th and it well worth checking out.
