Boxville is a short but wonderful puzzle adventure about friendship. For me, the lack of Pro Controller use just dipped my overall enjoyment, but if handheld (or mouse via PC) is your preferred gaming style, then Boxville is a great game to play. The graphics are fantastic, and although a couple of the puzzles were a little challenging, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Blue Can and his tin dog in Boxville.

The result is a little adventure game that doesn't offend, that is really tightly hand-animated, and that is just as nicely paced. The plot isn't complicated, but you wouldn't expect it to be. It feels like an animated movie, and even if it has a few flaws, there's something special about it.

Modest, beautiful and simply human, Boxville offers a point and click adventure that needs no words to satisfy the puzzle gameplay and emotional connection. The story of a tin can looking for its missing dog takes us on a short walk through the daily life of a handmade city and hits the setting with its beautiful hand-painted art, but that can lead to the frustration of eventually getting stuck in puzzles and compromising the fluidity of progress – a common problem in the genre.

Boxville is a very nice adventure game, with a great visual design, but it lacks ambition to propose something new within the genre.

Boxville is a truly delightful point-and-click adventure with a unique charm that you don’t usually find in games. Thanks to its picturesque graphics, sophisticated perspective, polished audio, touching story, and relaxing atmosphere, it’s a game that everyone—young and old, big and small—can enjoy. The entire production reflects just how much love and care the creators poured into this project, making its peaceful message impossible to ignore. Nothing should be overdone, but still, I wish I could spend just a little more time in this cardboard city.

If you like Machinarium-like adventure games, you have no chance to dislike Boxville. This is a short adventure game that endears itself with its puzzle balance and cute characters.
