Anglerfish is full of surprises. While its quirky sense of humor, strong horror elements, and high death rate will keep you on your toes, it won't be for everyone. If you like scary titles with a wicked sense of humor, Anglerfish is worth checking out.

Anglerfish feels like it caters to a very specific patron and ends up poisoning the rest. The strange environments and peculiar denizens within the Anglerfish bar are a high note, but one that becomes drowned out by the frustrating design of its gameplay elements. After each death the game beckoned for another round, but I ultimately left feeling hungover.

Anglerfish offers a curious premise, enriched by metalanguage elements in its narrative. Although the interesting mechanic of changing the path caused by death can occasionally lead to some monotonous runs due to the lack of significant variations, it is a game that is worth checking out.

Undeniably weird, with plenty of creepy horror elements, plenty of abrupt death, and an odd style all its own

Anglerfish was a very pleasant surprise. I love its art style and sense of humor. It always managed to surprise me with something new, whether it was a different way to die or some small twist. By the end, I was actually sad that it was over. I definitely recommend this game.

Anglerfish is a great mix of dark humour, unsettling atmosphere, and death-based gameplay. It's worth the two to three hours it takes to finish your first playthrough, but the predictable ending and questionable in-game marketing, make this title fall short of being a seamless experience.
