Yesterday Origins has a strong cast of characters, an intriguing plot, and beautiful presentation. When you manage to work it all out, the game can be a real joy, but when things go wrong, it can be frustratingly slow and pedantic. Like its narrative, it jumps back in time to remind us of when games were far more frustrating and constrained. It brings back elements of gaming's past that we like, but it also brings back those that we don't. We've come a long way, but if all those troubles feel far away, well Yesterday Origins, to quote The Beetles, makes them look "as though they're here to stay".
Read full review ↗Yesterday's Origins doesn't attempt to change the formula of the point and click adventure and that's okay. The story is delightfully bonkers and it looks pretty, but if you dig deep there's some repetition, some odd stylistic choices and you might not recall it in years to come, but it's nice to see such a game on Nintendo Switch.
Read full review ↗With an engaging story mixing together thriller and comedy elements with occult themes and plenty of dark humor, as well as some interesting characters, Yesterday Origins is a point and click adventure game that fans of the genre will surely appreciate. With the gameplay formula not straying too far from familiar ground, however, the game developed by Pendulo Studios will hardly appeal to those who don't enjoy this classic genre.

Would you dare to live to the limit? Would you try to correct the mistakes of your past ?. These are some of the questions posed by John Yesterday, the protagonist of this remarkable graphic adventure recently arrived at the catalog of our Switch.
Read full review ↗Yesterday Origins is a remarkable graphic adventure that, however, does not manage to shine in Nintendo Switch due several technical issues. It remains the memorable piece of art it once was, with a wonderful story to follow, but there are some serious drops regarding framerate that need to be worked on.
Read full review ↗Yesterday Origins fails to escape many of the flaws of its genre, and doesn’t do enough with its story or characters to tolerate those issues.
Read full review ↗Overall I think Yesterday Origins is a great experience for point and click adventure game fans. It presents a solid package very reminiscent of the second era of adventure gaming. If you liked Microids other efforts like the Syberia series, you’ll do well to pick this one up too as it’s more of the same, but potentially even better. Sure, a few presentation issues mar it a little as well as bizarrely sluggish controls but adventure fans will still enjoy it, even if it’s not going win any more people over to the genre. Still, if you want to settle down with a nice coffee or tea and play this one, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed, as long as you don’t mind checking a guide once in a while.
Read full review ↗Yesterday Origins is a clever adventure game with a nice mix of the old-school of point and click releases and some of the advancements in the genre for the 21st century. It's a lengthy release with plenty to do and lots of information to process, as should be the case for any adventure release. The game's art style will grow on you as it is a nice mix between cartoony and realistic with a lot of polish to detail. If you want a good PS4 adventure game to play, then Yesterday Origins from Pendulo Studios and Microïds could be just what you needed.
