Trine: Enchanted Edition is a nice visual update of a classic puzzle platformer. Featuring consistently clever challenges, jaw-droppingly gorgeous visuals, and a smart script, it'll likely charm your pants right off. A lack of variety and slightly shonky combat certainly mars the experience, but not enough to ruin the game's solid core mechanics.

A few small factors aside, Trine Enchanted Edition is a gorgeous rendition to pick up for those who enjoyed the sequel. It's also the sensible place for newcomers to start, although the plot isn't really that deep. The game can be completed in less than 10 hours, but completionists can expect to lengthen this time seeking every nook and cranny. The way multiplayer refreshes the whole experience also can't be expressed enough. Those who love puzzle-platformers can Trine on their own, then pick up a friend or two and Trine, Trine again.

Trine Enchanted Edition is a beautiful relaxing game, which is great fun alone or in a group. In some passages you have to think a bit about how to get further, but you probably won't get stuck anywhere during the game. The level of the enemies is also not very challenging, but it gets a lot higher towards the end. All in all, Trine Enchanted Edition is a very good piece of work that brings us an extraordinary experience. The game's artwork will certainly enchant you, whether you're fighting in the night forest or jumping over fierce blades in the underground. What's disappointing about Trine Enchanted Edition is the really short game time. In fact, you enjoy the game so much that you could have stayed with it for much longer. If you like to bother your head, train your patience on the rotating platforms and enjoy the fairy-tale beautiful environment, then you should definitely give Trine Enchanted Edition a try.

After nearly a decade, Trine Enchanted Edition still looks and plays as wondrously as ever. Its progressive reward system and ability to cater for gameplay variety keeps the adventure entertaining for the half a dozen hours or so it takes to complete the game. As a result, it suits the Nintendo Switch nicely despite the fact that the importance of a Right Stick makes split Joy-Con accessibility a missing feature.

Trine is a colorful action-platform adventure with visually rich settings that will delight fans of the genre. It also has a very careful sound section, with beautiful melodies setting each level, which contribute to complete a game that, without being perfect, has very high production values. Totally recommendable.

It still looks lovely and sounds spectacular, and traffics in some inventive physics-based puzzle-platforming.

Trine's first entry is a marvelously-crafted mix of RPG and platforms which includes ingenious level design, a very attractive audio-visual component and a very captivating storyline. It might not excel as much as its sequel but it works as a perfect introduction to the series.

Trine: Enchanted Edition is a good game, well made and competent, but not necessarily for me. I can appreciate what it has accomplished, but its slow, methodical brand of puzzle platforming and the "meh" combat leave me wanting.

Trine 2: The Director's Cut was the first time the series appeared on a Nintendo platform, way back at the Wii U\'s launch. Over two years later, we finally get to see the first adventure the three heroes shared – and now we get that tale with significant visual improvements. So how does the game fare? Well, it's not as good as the sequel. Of course it isn't – the sequel improved on practically everything about the original. Even so, that doesn't mean it doesn't share the same beautiful visuals, stunning music, fantastical world, and clever gameplay as its follow up – and that means that it is most certainly worth checking out all the same, and is a great place for newcomers to start.
