The Talos Principle and its expansion Road to Gehenna are undeniably two of the best puzzle game experiences available in video games. That unfortunately only makes the difficulty jump in the new In the Beginning expansion more frustrating, but it remains true for the base game, and both expansions that the struggle is worth it for the writing and storytelling.

The popular puzzle game has been given a makeover and has received an extra feature, and is once again competing for players' favour. The puzzles are still fun, and they now look better than ever.

I had a blast revisiting this game and it is just as memorable as it was back in 2014. This is a must-play for those that enjoy these types of puzzle games. It really carves out its own niche and executes it extremely well. Hard to believe this game came from the same guys who created Serious Sam.

However, if someone still couldn't get enough, they can always reach for community-created levels. And all this in stunning visuals that could be the envy of many high-budget games. The Talos Principle: Reawakened is a must-have for fans of the series and all lovers of puzzle games. However, it should also be of interest to those who are looking for something fresh, yet remarkably good.

The Talos Principle: Reawakened did what was needed to be a perfect revitalization. It kept its challenges unchanged, which were already very good, and greatly improved its visuals. The inclusion of the expansions in the remake, with the possibility of accessing them right away, made this the definitive version of a groundbreaking title.

The Talos Principle: Reawakened is a fantastic facelift, with just enough additions, but with impact. Perhaps gamers who own the original won't feel the need to jump for it, but if you're a big fan or have never played it, it's a must-have for your library. Its puzzles are brilliant, but its narrative side resonates even more in 2025 than in 2014 and is worth getting lost in the story.
