All those puzzles weave together to create a satisfying conclusion to Dei's journey that lands with impact, even if the pacing in the middle of the tale dips a little. Marrying the puzzles with the story is a gorgeous art style and stunning animation that consistently looks incredible, and has made the game stick in our mind. The Star Named EOS is a lovely, bitesized, personal tale that's easy to connect with and enjoy if you're a fan of similar narrative-led experiences and hidden object puzzle games.

Like a photo, The Star Named EOS is a fleeting moment in time. In the all-too-short playthrough, it gave us so much to love: between the art, the story and the puzzles we can't choose just one highlight. And once the credits rolled we already wanted to take another turn. Puzzle games don't have the best replay value, but thanks to the tricksy teasers and compelling mother-son narrative, we would be delighted to return to this one. There's not much more for us to say here - a photo is worth a thousand words.

The Star Named EOS delivers on creating a world basking in colorful delight, but is shadowed by a lack of gameplay direction. For those who don’t mind the look past that, the game is sure to please those who love an atmospheric experience within the world. With captivating music and animation, The Star Named EOS brings forth a story that's told through its character and design.

The Star Named EOS will probably be better appreciated in portable mode. Especially since the quality of the graphics does not require a high-resolution screen to enjoy them. Obviously, some effects will be more visually striking on a television.

It’s also a shame that this game is so short, as it can be completed in just a couple of hours. I was really enjoying my time with it, and even though I feel that the length is able to do the storyline justice, a few extra levels would’ve been the icing on the cake.

The Star Named EOS, and its unusual approach, introspective narrative and stunning audiovisual presentation, is an excellent choice for people who prefer short games to relax and think. The Switch version trips up on a few details and the experience can be severely compromised by the lack of hints for the puzzles but, as they say, "it's not the destination but the journey."

A game for those who love small touching stories for the evening.

Even though the game was over with the flash of a camera, the story stayed with me like a Polaroid photo. This atmospheric and emotional puzzle adventure is one that should be talked about more and given more attention. Make sure to get your hands on The Star Named EOS and prepare to have your heartstrings pulled.

You went spend a lot of time in the escape room puzzles of The Star Named EOS, but the time you will spend there is fun, creative, and captivating.
