I will always welcome another Tetris game, so I can’t say I didn’t have a good time playing Tetris: The Grand Master 4 – Absolute Eye. Despite being a total unoriginal game, the kind of Tetris game you’ve played a billion times ever since you were born, it retains all of the mechanics and rulesets that make Tetris so appealing in the first place. Even if it doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it’s impossible to call it a bad game. It’s highly competent and worth checking out if you’re a die-hard fan of the franchise, but at this point in time, you must own two or three different Tetris games for your Switch, at the very least.

With no online multiplayer you must really enjoy score chasing in singleplayer Tetris to stay hooked. While the guides and other modes taught me some valuable skills I can hopefully deploy in other games of Tetris, TGM4 knows that it is only there to provide you with just Tetris. For that goal it is perfectly adequate and plays great. For anything else you're probably much better off playing a different version of Tetris. There's a plethora of options out there even if TGM4 isn't for you.
Read full review ↗Tetris: The Grand Master 4 -Absolute Eye- is a great way to play Tetris. It helped me rediscover a love for Tetris I once had, and for the first time, I'm trying different control schemes and modes. Sadly, the game is still in a buggy state and needs some work. The dev team is listening and communicating with players, and I do have faith these issues will get fixed, even if it might take a while. Even after all that, I can still recommend it, and this will be the version I continue to play.
