Why play it

You and an AI mech named Magus explore a dystopian landscape in the year 2222. A catastrophic poisonous rain event known as Tears of the New Moon nearly eradicated the human race — survivors fled to the underground city of Amasia. To survive, the player character known as a “Drifter” must sell AO Crystals, which can only be harvested from the polluted outside world. To travel, you’ll drive around in a vehicle called the Cradle Coffin, which you can customize. The game will also have a unique PvP option, wherein playing online will support encounters with others plays on their own missions - you might collide head to head while trying to gather precious supplies

Story and worldbuilding

The year is 2222. It has been years since “Tears of the New Moon”, a mysterious rain, poured and wiped out almost the entire human race. The poisonous rain gave birth to deformed creatures devouring for humans, and humanity fled from the danger. As means for survival, the humans then build an underground haven; Amasia. In this new built dystopian city, on a pursuit of maintaining their existence, they run into an Artificial Intelligence named Magus. Not knowing how things will work between them, the story of how Humans and AI coinciding and trying to find their truths begin.

Getting to the best part is a grind, but if you put in some hours Synduality Echo of Ada eventually reveals itself to be a high-tension, mech-based extraction shooter.

Synduality has some smart ideas, but the end result is a misguided, hollow franken-game.

It’s a bit difficult to recommend SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada. Sure, fans of extraction shooters and mechas will find something to enjoy, but only if they pay the appropriate taxes. However, it’s hard to enjoy the game when you think about how much you have to “work” to get basic things, something that unfortunately shouldn’t happen in paid titles like this.

SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada is a generic third-person extraction that challenges, engages, then bores.

Synduality: Echo of Ada presents an ambitious concept, trying to blend PvPvE gameplay with mech-based combat in a dystopian world. While there are some things that shine, like the strong visual design; it just doesn’t offset how extremely slow and grindy the early game is.

If you give it a chance, SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada is an interesting game. It will still be a repetitive game, but it ends up becoming addictive. Its unique world and the desire to discover more about it can make up for the high grind and frustration - especially at the beginning - of losing everything because you were too ambitious.

In short, SYNDUALITY needs to take a long, hard look at itself and ask what does it want to be, and how will it get there. Right now, it’s not worth the asking price, especially with all the micro-transactions still found in the game. But maybe, after some updates and potentially a free-to-play model in place, SYNDUALITY emerges a better, more thought-out product.

SYNDUALITY has plenty of solid ideas, they just aren’t particularly original, and they are asking full price for a bunch of content that is weighted down by the kind of exploitation you see in Free-to-Play.

SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada is an interesting take on the extraction shooter model. Unfortunately, extremely slow pacing and some frankly bizarre design decisions may turn people away.

Initially, the title is fun , we always want to go out to explore and, above all, we are greedy in collecting resources that will allow us to expand our base and buy more equipment. The problem, however, is that this cycle becomes less and less attractive as we continue with the exits on the surface.
