Shift at Midnight is a creative and tightly paced co-op horror experience that combines Papers, Please-style identity checks with absurd humor, clever doppelganger encounters, and a surprisingly engaging story campaign. Its chaotic combat, weaker endless mode, and brief runtime hold it back slightly, but the game remains an inventive and highly entertaining horror comedy best enjoyed with friends.
