Saborus

The idea behind this game had the potential to be an important game with a genuine message made accessible and engaging, but it undermines its own premise with weird humour, awkward gameplay and far too many sloppy details. It's clear Saborus was incredibly lazily made.

The problem is that Saborus is a stealth puzzle-platformer where the stealth sections aren’t that interesting, the puzzles aren’t difficult, and the platforming is a mess.

Lacking horror adventure in which you will guide a chicken through a slaughterhouse

Saborus is certainly memorable, but so is the first time I found a bone in a chicken nugget. It has potential, but you can’t explore it on the Switch, and the tonal shift and odd choices might take away from the overall effect. Truth be told, if it does help someone better understand animal rights and start the steps towards either reforming the industry or at least making more informed choices, then I’d chalk it up as a win. But please keep in mind: this “horror” title is only scary when you remember the true monster is mankind! Or something like that.

Saborus is one of those games that is remembered more for what it tries to do than for what it achieves.

Struggles to be interesting as a game, and seemingly consumed with trying to make a point… but it falls flat because it’s simply not terribly good
