Playing RoadOut really delighted me with its super-fun gameplay and distinct 3D game world that looks like a pixel-perfect 2D retro game. 🚗

Roadout is a fun and frantic grindhouse ride that feels like something Robert Rodriguez could have turned into a movie. Its action is fast, stylish, and never takes itself too seriously, making it one of the more memorable indie gems of the year despite some occasional repetition.

I sincerely, truly want to like this game, and it’s easier for me to do that when I only have it for a moment at a time. But if you’re determined to sit down and bang this out over a couple of days, be warned: there will come a time where you simply run out of gas.

RoadOut is, at its core, a very solid game. It offers an engaging story, a wide variety of gameplay options, and plenty of action that can keep players entertained for dozens of hours. Despite this, it is not without its flaws.
