Rightfully, Beary Arms

Rightfully, Beary Arms really surprised me. I legitimately had a good bit of fun with the title! Yes, it doesn’t bring anything new to the table and I get that this genre is starting to be a bit tired, but I still feel this is a fun game, especially for its low price. The fact you are playing as a bear in pajamas shooting guns should be enough of a selling point right there!

I had fun with the basic gameplay and quirky premise of Rightfully, Beary Arms but it definitely doesn't live up to its genre contemporaries. 🧸

The game carves a spot in bullet-hell for its undeniable difficulty paired with it’s over the top “just have fun” attitude.

A lo-fi 8-bit style twin-stick bullet hell shooter whose exhilaratingly weird music and catalogue of surreal weaponry is undermined by technical problems and a reliance on luck.

Daylight Basement Studio brings us an enjoyable and straightforward rogue-lite for those who want to get their adrenaline pumping by pulling the trigger.

In short bursts there is fun to be had with Rightfully, Beary Arms, and once we nab a few permanent upgrades some of the issues are less pronounced. But we simply didn’t find it all that engaging enough to want to repeatedly play and progress, with one-note combat and occasionally cheap deaths.
