A plain poker game whose main attraction is the four characters from various franchises. Serves to answer the question: what do video game characters do when they are off duty.

Poker Night at the Inventory is a flawless remaster of a great classic, featuring completely revamped elements. While it could have benefited from a few more additions and some aspects of it haven’t aged well, it’s definitely a must-play for anyone who’s a fan of the featured franchises or poker in general.

Modest though it may be, Poker Night at the Inventory proves to be as fun as ever. And while it's easy to wish for more, the game is only $9.99. To quote Strong Bad, that's "Chump change, I say. Chump change!" The game's charming personality guarantees you'll be busting it out for a tournament or two every now and again.

The amount of enjoyment you’ll get from Poker Night at the Inventory depends heavily on both your love of poker and knowledge of these relics from another time.

Poker Night at the Inventory might not change how you feel about poker games, but it does remind you that simple ideas can make something fun and lasting when they are combined with smart writing and memorable characters. The AI could use some work, the buy-in rules could be better, and a percentage gauge would be a nice touch, but these are all minor problems with an otherwise fun and easy game.

Skunkape Games have remastered and re-listed Poker Night, given it a fresh lick of paint, reintroduced it's most important feature and all that at a decent price. They've truly gone all-in.

The 2026 release of Poker Night At The Inventory is as impressive as it is unusual – gameplay overhauls are a massive improvement, while graphical upgrades are largely positive in spite of some questionable creative decisions. All of this sadly doesn’t make up for the fact that the game as a whole simply hasn’t aged well – 16 years on, the dialogue and characters only hold a place in the hearts of the most nostalgic, but thankfully a low price point means those wanting to relive the original won’t need to break the bank.

Despite it just being a poker-playing sim, the oddball characters and their interactions make it a good time… though it helps if you know who they are

Whether you are a poker shark or not, you’ll still find plenty to like here, as you’ll be laughing too much to care that you’re losing all your chips.
