Why play it

A port/remake of the 3DS's Picross e series using the engine of the Nintendo Switch's Picross S series. Notable changes include the translation of the puzzles from Picross e's Micross mode to the Picross S series' Clip Picross mode, as well as additional Picross and Color Picross puzzles unique to this release. The base game includes all 150 puzzles from the first Picross e release in both Picross and Mega Picross forms, while puzzles from the remaining Picross e games are available as individual DLC packs.

Picross S+ is yet another great title that holds up the quality of standard developer Jupiter is known for. It is a bit sad that the base game does not come with any Color Picross puzzles, but overall, these can be unlocked with DLC purchases and even the base game by itself provides hours of fun!

Much like the last several entries in the Picross S series on Switch, Picross S+ isn't reinventing the wheel, but if you are hankering for more Picross, this is a great value and an excellent package. Jupiter remains the king of Picross, sitting on a throne filled with puzzles and a user interface that is evocative of the Switch's home menu: straight to the point with a hint of whimsy.
