While the finale of the game may not capitalize entirely on the promise of its early hours, My Friendly Neighborhood is, on a whole, one of the satisfying new horror experiences in a year that’s had no shortage of terrific horror games to choose from. If you’re looking for a fun and unsettling survival-horror title that’s light on gore and heavy on spine-tingling thrills, I wholeheartedly recommend giving My Friendly Neighborhood a spin.

Impressive efforts with a few noticeable problems holding them back. Won't astound everyone, but is worth your time and cash.

My Friendly Neighborhood combines a number of elements from well-known, classic horror games and puts a fun twist on it. I think it is a perfect, easy horror game to get into without over the top gore and themes. It’s definitely worth trying out and you get a decent amount of game for £25. For comparison, Resident Evil Village was £60 on release and the story lasted around 8 hours. So this has a lot of game for a fair price! I’m giving My Friendly Neighborhood the Thumb Culture Gold Award!

If you ever thought Resident Evil needed more felt My Friendly Neighborhood will be right up your Sesame Street.

My Friendly Neighborhood toes the line between horror and humour, in an epic survival quest that turns nostalgia into apprehension. I definitely recommend this game to those looking for a less serious adventure that still provides the gratification and entertainment of bigger titles. I will certainly be revisiting it in my spare time.

Nightmare on Sesame Street, err, I mean My Friendly Neighborhood, is an interesting kids show turned horror game that was incredibly entertaining for a single run, despite some outdated game design choices. I’ve made some new felt friends along the way and will certainly remember my time spent on this set, but I don’t have the stuffing required for completing the game across multiple playthroughs.

First-person survival horror game that pays homage to Sesame Street

My Friendly Neighbourhood is a surprisingly enjoyable romp with a beautiful style, good comic humor, sensible puzzles and design and engaging narrative. Its combat can be a bit hit and miss and there is a sense of back-tracking and auto-piloting that happens as you play, causing you to disconnect from the experience at times. But if you’re looking for something a little different in the vein of Poppy Playtime and the Bendy series, you’re going to have a great time with these puppets.
