Wait until you see the shocking changes in MotoGP 26's Career Mode - it's a game-changer for the series. But is it too much of a good thing?

All in all, MotoGP 26 remains a reliable—and in many respects, impressive—title that brilliantly captures the thrill of motorcycle racing, while simultaneously revealing the typical shortcomings of annual sports game franchises: limited innovation, minor technical flaws, and a certain caution regarding major changes. For fans of the series and the sport, this is unlikely to be a significant issue; at its core, MotoGP 26 offers an immensely satisfying and challenging gameplay experience that distinguishes the title as the most comprehensive and authentic adaptation of the MotoGP World Championship currently available.

MotoGP 26 delivers a well-crafted motorcycle racing simulation aimed at a specific audience, without strong efforts to attract a wider player base. It offers varied content, but suffers from repetition, lack of depth, and limited innovation.

"A realistic and polished racing simulation that suffers from the annual series fatigue" MotoGP 26 delivers a deep and realistic motorcycle racing experience focused on accurate physics and handling, with a sophisticated driving system and rich content to suit simulation enthusiasts. The game succeeds in delivering a strong sense of speed and challenge, supported by good audio and graphics design.

Overall, I am quietly impressed with how the series continues to improve. While I think that the breaking system has changed, and not for the better, there is plenty to admire. This is definitely a game I see myself playing for a while, and I am excited to continue playing past this review. Based on everything I have spoken about within this review, I will be awarding MOTOGP 26 with the Thumb Culture Gold Award.

MotoGP 26 is a bit of a let-down, though, because we now know that Milestone is capable of better. Even die-hard fans want something more than just getting to grips with the latest liveries.

MotoGP 26 is a very good motorcycle racing game that stops just short of being a great one. The riding feels better than it ever has, the presentation is strong, and the sheer amount of official content — every rider, team, bike, and circuit from the 2026 season — makes it the only real option if you want authentic MotoGP action.

Essentially, Milestone is continuing to build on the successful dual formula that has ushered in a rebirth of sorts for the MotoGP video game franchise, and it's done so with an installment that appeals to both newcomers and veterans alike. The new physics model works and is convincing; the new Career mode represents a clear departure from the franchise's past (though it still has some room for improvement); the Race Off mode is fun and finally includes street bikes. If you're a MotoGP fan or are simply looking for a title to fuel your inner racer, this year's edition of Milestone's sports simulator could be the perfect fit for you.

MotoGP 26 is exactly what it sounds like: a solid evolution for the series that doesn't change the rules, but refines them as much as it can.

MotoGP 26 offers its usual and appreciated driving model, now embellished with numerous details and realistic riders. The driving modes can satisfy both demanding players seeking a ruthless simulation and those who just want to have fun. However, it lacks in content: the renewed Career convinces when using a custom rider, but it disappoints with real ones due to unnecessary limitations. And the removal of historical features adds to a worrying list of cuts over the years, undermining its overall value for long-time fans.
