Moses & Plato: Last Train to Clawville

Moses & Plato - LTTC builds heavily upon the narratives, history, and current political storylines of the world inside its digital walls, but a previous foray into the catalogue of the developer isn’t necessary to fully enjoy the treacherous train ride on which the game takes place, and is a great way to get pulled into the creative, animal-filled world they’ve crafted here.

While Moses & Plato – Last Train to Clawville was mostly fun to play, it didn’t feel like the game had enough depth. Additionally, despite featuring controller support, it was incredibly difficult to use the controller to play the game and felt more like a hindrance.

Moses & Plato: Last Train to Clawville delivers a well-written mystery, charming characters, strong humor, and a beautifully realized animal noir world. Its detective mechanics, interrogations, and minigames do not always reach the same level of quality as the story itself, but the journey to Clawville remains engaging, stylish, and full of clear potential.

Moses & Plato – Last Train to Clawville is an enthralling murder puzzler, pulled along by an amazing cast and memorable characters. Even though it’s light on deep gameplay mechanics, the animal senses add wrinkles to clue gathering, setting up tense verbal standoffs as you zero in on the true murderer. Fans of Sherlock Holmes, visual novels, and well-executed mysteries are sure to enjoy this caper.

I love adventure games, have a soft spot for trains, and especially enjoy the combination of the two. It sounds like a niche genre, but this is actually my third “murder investigation” on a train, after 2024’s Loco Motive and 2023’s Murder on the Orient Express. Each of those games brings something new to the table, and Moses & Plato – Last Train to Clawville is certainly one of the more unique spins on the story. I hope this is not the last I’ve seen from Moses and Plato.
