You could pick Wilds up as a newcomer and have a tremendous time playing through the story. You could stop there and it would still be worth the price of admission. But I will be playing it for a long time yet.

A hungry gullet of a game, Monster Hunter Wilds will devour your time if it gets its claws in. But an overbearing story might make you impatient to ride straight to the moreish endgame.

I am already 50 hours in, and I can’t wait to double - triple, quadruple! - that number in the coming weeks and months. This one’s a classic, as far as I'm concerned.
