Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Battle Destiny Remastered might not be the best licensed game out there, but it isn't the worst either.

Overall, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Battle Destiny Remastered is a pretty by-the-book update of a game that was clearly made for the limitations of the PS Vita. It's genuinely fun to play and smash your way through enemy robots as your favorite Gundam, but it's a very shallow game. You'll probably get bored of the combat loop well before you do everything the game has to offer. Fans of the franchise will have enough fun to make it worth the cash, but those looking for something with more meat on the bones will probably be better off looking elsewhere.

But for SEED fans, especially those who remember poring over the original’s menus with a translation guide in hand, this remaster is a nostalgic gift. For everyone else? It’s an old warhorse with a new coat of paint and a reminder that sometimes, the past is best visited with tempered expectations.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Battle Destiny provides a decent enough framework for fun, but the battle system's flaws become more and more apparent under any amount of pressure. Pressure you will most assuredly feel unless you feel comfortable grinding out hours of short missions required to level up and pass the numbers check to do things like finish the story of the first anime. It’s not a bad game, but it’s a game that should mostly be considered by big-time enthusiasts of this kind of game with time to burn.

Gundam SEED: Battle Destiny Remastered is something of a welcome surprise that we likely ended up getting due to Gundam SEED Freedom and the success of other recent games.

The absence of the original’s multiplayer modes limits how players can engage with the Battle Destiny Remastered. I’m glad this game exists, that it is available outside of Japan… Still, it’s hard to thoroughly recommend something flawed in its original iteration in one way, and compromised in its remastered release in an entirely different way.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Battle Destiny Remastered is a solid experience for mecha fans, especially those who love the SEED saga. Its dynamic combat, faithful presentation, and upgraded visuals make it a worthwhile title for dedicated fans. However, repetitive missions, simple environments, and the lack of online multiplayer limit its broader appeal. If you're a Gundam SEED enthusiast, it's a great way to relive or reshape the conflict. For newcomers, though, it might not be the best entry point — even if, alongside SD Gundam Battle Alliance, it stands as one of the better Gundam games on Switch.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Battle Destiny Remastered isn’t just a treat for fans of the Cosmic Era, it’s also a nostalgic callback to the Gundam games of the 2000s.

MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM SEED BATTLE DESTINY REMASTERED brings a fair action experience and nothing more than that. There are many polish issues and a campaign that cuts down the narrative to focus on a combat that's jankier than it should be. It's still possible to have fun with the game, especially for those who know the saga and just want to turn off the brain with giant robot battles, but there are better options in the market for those looking for good action experiences.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Battle Destiny aims to relive the anime's story while you're a part of it, but it completely fails. It also has performance issues on the Switch even though it's a remaster. However, the main point that killed me inside is that the game doesn't have ANY music from the Gundam SEED anime.
