We can't imagine who Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai is for, as it mostly boils down to being a worse version of an existing IP, with some fairly bland gameplay tacked on for good measure. Newcomers will be lost, and enthusiasts won't appreciate the corners cut, so while technically - and mechanically - sound, it leaves very little to recommend.

Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai suffers from a chronic lack of focus. The vibrant visuals and fun combat can't make up for the fact that you'll spend hours doing little more than watching static images tell the plot of the anime. The result is a game that will frustrate action RPG fans with a lack of action and fails to do justice to the story it is trying to tell. Unless you're desperate for a new Dragon Quest game to play, you're better off just watching the anime and skipping this spin-off entirely.

A disappointing game adaptation for one of the best Dragon Quest spin-off series that possesses major structural and gameplay shortcomings.

Anyone interested in Dai's story should just watch the anime instead.

Infinity Strash plays with its own legacy a bit, mostly by using models from Dragon Quest proper instead of imitating the manga’s art style. But the rest of the game, while fun in that lizard brain kind of way, doesn’t do a ton to separate itself from its peers. Fans of the series will have a decent time, but there’s not much here for folks on the outside. If you’re curious about Dragon Quest as a whole, we recommend starting elsewhere.

Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventures of Dai is an interesting idea in bringing the anime to video game form that falls short in execution.

Infinity Strash offers a very mediocre and limited experience, that suffers from the lack of game modes and repetition in the modes that are available. The name of the IP and the characters could have been utilized better.

Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai sits in a bit of a weird place, primarily because of the way it chooses to tell its story. It’s based on an existing anime and does cover the key plot beats of the story and the character motivations fairly well and is easy enough to follow even for newcomers. But due to its abridged nature, the anime or manga is still the go-to option if you come to like these characters and want to see everything this story has to offer.

I personally had very different expectations of Infinity Strash. This title was announced as a kind of action RPG in the Dragon Quest world. In reality it has become more of an arena fighter with a story told at 8x speed. I wonder who this game is actually for. If you want an arena fighter, you better buy Dragon Quest: Heroes. Would you like to experience Dai's story? Then it is much better to watch the 2020 anime.

Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest – The Adventure of Dai is a title that, despite its potential, falls short in several key ways. From a technical standpoint, it offers an engaging visual experience that captures the essence of its anime counterpart. Sound effects and music complement the ambience well, but are marred by technical issues, such as noticeable slowdowns in action sequences.
