Horizon Zero Dawn is very much one of Sony's standout projects of the past ten years, and this superb remaster by Nixxes puts it among the best looking games on the PS5. While the side-quests and supporting content don't quite match up to sequel Forbidden West, the more focused story is arguably better than its successor, and it's presented almost flawlessly in this remastered format.

Read full review ↗Of course, credit goes to Guerrilla Games for writing a narrative and building out gameplay that remains interesting and engaging seven years on. At $49.99 for new players and $9.99 for owners of the PS4 or PC versions, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered’s overhauled visuals feel like a steal.

Read full review ↗In 2024, Horizon Zero Dawn remains a highly recommended experience. Within what we find in the recent history of the industry, the narrative remains one of the most fascinating and the world remains one of the most interesting to explore. And this remaster does an impressive job of making everything noticeably more beautiful, immersive and resplendent, despite introducing some bugs whose presence is as strange as it is annoying. For those who have already experienced Aloy's adventures, it may not be worth stepping foot in these terrains again. But anyone who has never faced these metallic Jurassic creatures before is in for a must-see release.
Read full review ↗Suffice it to say, Nixxes Software put a whole lot of work into this new revision of Horizon: Zero Dawn, even if it's not that apparent of the first glance.
Read full review ↗Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered checks the boxes for the basic requirements in a remaster, but Nixxes transcends expectations and makes a compelling purchase for many different scenarios
Read full review ↗Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is a very successful refresh of the original. The introduced changes are not particularly groundbreaking anywhere, but they make a noticeable difference during gameplay. The game looks and sounds better, and the gameplay has greatly benefited from expanded gestures, facial expressions, and new movements of the heroine. If you didn't play it Horizon, then this remaster is an excellent choice. However, if you already know her story, then there's not enough new content here that could make you immerse yourself in this world again.
