Gecko Gods is a fairly low-priced indie made with love, and I respect the team and what they've achieved even if I was frustrated for a lot of the experience. Some people will love the novelty of playing as a gecko. For me, although I made my peace with the decision, I do wonder if a slightly different approach could have increased my own engagement and made me believe more in what I was being asked to do.It's difficult to tell whether some of my frustrations come down to simply taking the wrong turn – or whether I missed a single line of text somewhere that might have set me on a more reasonable path. But I don't think I missed anything. If you want a short puzzle experience, and you like the idea of playing as a gecko, then Gecko Gods may well be worth your time.
Read full review ↗Gecko Gods is a chilled out joy to play. Perfect for a lazy summer evening with a cold drink and a fan in your face, the sheer thrill of discovery is absolutely nailed here. While there may be times that you're not quite sure where to go, the focused level design and island layout means that exploration is always enjoyable and you'll find the way forward soon enough. Whether you're looking for a nostalgic treat or simply want to hang out with a cute little lizard for a while, Gecko Gods is sure to delight.
Read full review ↗For the most part of the adventure, I really had a lot of fun slipping into the skin of the little gecko, climbing across pillars, walls, and ceilings, and of course exploring the entire world and solving a few little puzzles. But at the same time, something was simply missing — and I don't mean my sense of direction. Because beyond that, I was also lacking a bit of variety and, above all, substance.

Read full review ↗Yes, there is a lot of potential in Gecko Gods. With a decent update, this is a game that is very fun and intriguing. Do you like Zelda-style dungeons and riddles? Then I wouldn't hesitate to give this game a try.
Read full review ↗Gecko Gods is an enjoyable open-world exploration adventure. The central gameplay element is free climbing: on the role of a gecko, we can walk across all solid surfaces and solve puzzles that allow us to progress through the campaign. However, the general simplicity ends up with an air of superficiality and leaves one wishing that certain aspects were better in-depth, such as the world's story, the variety of environments, and the level design challenges.

Read full review ↗As a whole, Gecko Gods is a very charming game that ticks all the right boxes in what makes a good open-world puzzle adventure game.
