Why play it

Also know as - Stella Deus: Alchemy Time is a spinoff of the Atlus tactics style game "Stella Deus: the Gate of Eternity" released on PS2. It is one of 2 Spinoff games, the other being: "Stella Deus: The Spirit of Darkness/The Black Spirit." The Spirit of Darkness serving as the first game, and The Age of Alchemy serving as the second game. The game was released on Japanese mobile phones on January 22nd, 2007 and recently on Steam & Nintendo Switch 1&2 thanks to G-Mode+ Archives. Releasing on the Switch Platforms on November 20th, 2025 & Steam on December 4th, 2025. The game has Japanese text only.

Story and worldbuilding

The game is a spinoff of Stella Deus: The Gate of Eternity, the setting is unclear whether it takes place before, during, or after the original game., There are 2 games that work as a part 1 and part 2. Stella Deus: The Spirit of Darkness / The Black Spirit being part 1, and Stella Deus: The Age of Alchemy being part 2. The story begins after the previous title, "The Spirit of Darkness," and this title also features an entirely original scenario. While connected to the original "Stella Deus" and its predecessor, "The Spirit of Darkness," it is a standalone story that is enjoyable whether you continue playing from the previous title or play this title alone. While the previous title, "The Spirit of Darkness," was easy enough for first-time players, this title is challenging enough for even hardcore players. A new story spanning 50 stages begins in the familiar "Cave of Ordeals" from the previous title.
