Koga Nao never knew his life would take a wild turn when a night out at a college drinking party would result in a messy relationship with Toiro Kirame. Now forced to date her, his life only gets more complicated when his longtime crush, Nobuta Yua, decides to confess to him!

Story and worldbuilding

Our protagonist, Koga Nao, wakes up one morning in high spirits. The birds are singing... and a girl is with him. The girl, Toiro Kirame, he met the previous night at a college drinking party. While he'd only meant to take care of her after she'd had too much to drink, confusion and a gap in her memory leads to her mistakenly assuming their relationship and demanding he take responsibility by going out with her. However, the situation grows complicated when Nao's longtime crush, Nobuta Yua, responds to his many confessions out of nowhere and declares that he's now her boyfriend. While he now finds himself with two girlfriends, this is no joyous occasion. He has to manage his relationships with them without letting anyone know he's two-timing, while also dealing with his ever-changing and evolving friendships. Will he be able to navigate his way out of this sticky, romantic quagmire to reach a happy ending for everyone involved, or will the weight of his dishonest behavior drag him down to his demise? Find out in this messy, unpredictable, and drama-filled romantic comedy!

Futamata Ren'ai: Two Times the Trouble starts strong with an amusing premise, heroines with unique personalities, plenty of comedy, and an interesting if minimal plot hidden in the background to reveal. It does however start to fall down when it comes to romance or developments beyond the common route. It's worth giving it a read, but much like the other ASa Project titles, it looks great when it comes to visuals, but the balance and style of comedy won't be to everyone's tastes.
