The awful music aside, Fitness Boxing 3 brings some much-needed variety to what could have been another by-the-numbers release with new songs and not much else. The Sit Fit Boxing and Mitt Drills modes give options to those who want to be less or more active respectively, and the extra trainer options are ideal for players who like to pretend they're dealing with an actual person. And even better, because Mitt Drills isn't rhythm-based, you can put your headphones on and listen to your own tunes.

While the best fitness games are designed for people who play video games, Fitness Boxing 3 feels like it was made for non-gamers who may happen to have a Switch in their home. Sure, it gets you moving, but there’s not much there to make the idea of exercising first thing in the morning remotely appealing.

Fitness Boxing 3: Your Personal Trainer may not actually train the player to be an effective boxer, but it is a fun way to burn some calories and get the heart rate elevated.

Fitness Boxing 3: Your Personal Trainer ended up being much more enjoyable than I expected. Once I became comfortable with the routines and stopped worrying about how I looked while doing them, the workouts became genuinely addictive. There were several times when I found myself thinking, "I have to work out today," and the only reason I stopped was because I was too tired to continue.

Even with Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrades, Fitness Boxing 3 is more Rock Band than Ring Fit Adventure-but still a good way to get moving.

Fitness Boxing 3: Your Personal Trainer - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition refines an already solid fitness experience with welcome technical improvements and accessibility features, though its lack of substantial new content keeps it from feeling like a must-have upgrade.

No, it isn’t going to replace proper boxing lessons. Nor should it. But as an entertaining way to burn calories at home without paying gym fees, waiting for equipment or being silently judged by Influencer McBiceps, Fitness Boxing 3 lands enough clean hits to keep me coming back

Fitness Boxing 3's weak voice work and shoddy motion detection somehow do little to keep you coming back for more. By gamifying the exercise, it keeps you engaged and motivated, and you'll quickly find yourself surprised at how tired you become from these exercises.

As a practitioner of physical activities, both at the gym and CrossFit for years, it’s quite clear that Fitness Boxing 3 is an excellent alternative for exercising in daily life. However, if you’re looking for greater results, it won’t replace the gym, for instance. That said, it can certainly be incorporated into your routine and help burn a good number of calories. On the downside, the lack of precision and the possibility of performing exercises incorrectly while still being rewarded with high scores can be a bit frustrating and make it harder to stay focused on the game.
