This season ain’t gonna knock anybody’s socks off, and both Dynasty and Road to Glory have leaned hard into spreadsheet management this year, but smart on-field additions to an already good game make College Football 27 worth suiting up for once again.

I’m still having a good time with College Football 27. It’s a fun football game that feels responsive and rewarding. I will probably spend a couple hundred hours in Dynasty mode by the time it’s all said and done. But the publisher has hindered this game with its live service ambitions, and I hope we can keep those shenanigans off campus for next year’s game.

EA SPORTS brings NIL and the modern football life to the gaming world. The best gameplay in a football game to date, but elephants are in the room.

With College Football 27, EA Orlando has delivered the best college football ever seen on console and PC; the gameplay works well and the atmosphere feels so authentic that it makes you feel like you're walking into a stadium you'll probably never set foot in.

College Football 27 proves that the franchise is much more than a collegiate reskin of Madden NFL. Its heavy focus on recruiting, program management, and player development creates a distinct experience where strategy and planning hold as much weight as stick skills. Modes like Dynasty and Road to Glory are the clear highlights, while the presentation, complete with detailed stadiums, marching bands, and an atmosphere true to traditional American universities, makes every matchup deeply engaging. On the other hand, a steep learning curve and the lack of Brazilian Portuguese subtitles may make the onboarding process harder for new international players. Even so, anyone looking for a deep sports simulator will find in College Football 27 a comprehensive experience, one fully capable of carving out its own space without relying on comparisons to Madden NFL.

While this modern era of college football isn't flawless, EA SPORTS College Football 27 is perfect for those seeking their own Road to Glory.

Overall, EA Sports College Football 27 isn’t a huge leap forward but it has seen mostly positive improvements year over year. The Dynasty mode and Road to Glory modes are now more fleshed out giving you deeper levels of control while both sides of the ball in the gameplay have made upgrades.

College Football 27 from EA Tiburon and EA Sports feels good in gameplay and execution, as expected, and still delivers a fantastic football experience. It stalls a bit in its additional mode innovation, despite its variety of modes, by focusing more on number-crunching than button-mashing.

EA SPORTS College Football 27 proves that EA knows how to make a great football game. The foundation is stronger than ever, but choices make the experience feel unnecessarily complicated.

EA SPORTS College Football 27 returns with its main career, team-building, and side modes alongside the college game-day atmosphere. The football is still the part I enjoyed most, especially when adjusting the defence before the snap and trying to finish a close drive. Dynasty can slow down between games, and Road to Glory still doesn’t make the college career personal enough. Paid shortcuts reaching beyond Ultimate Team make those weaker stretches harder to ignore, so college football fans who care most about the action on the field should enjoy it more than those looking for deeper career modes between games.
