Cupid Parasite is a lighthearted and thoroughly enjoyable otome VN for romantic comedy fans.

My 55 to 60 hours with Cupid Parasite were filled with much laughter and many tears. The character routes in this otome visual novel play like one fantastic rom-com show after another. Besides plenty of entertainment to be had, every story also leaves some food for thought. Furthermore, the incorporation of the six love types to expand each romance storyline’s depth is refreshing to see and helps give most love interests a deeply memorable identity and relevant love story. And with the striking art, spirited music, as well as a fairly good translation, my stay in Los York has been unforgettable. All things considered, Cupid Parasite is an all-around excellent production not to be missed, especially if one loves their rom-com stories topped with fantasy.

It's a story for lovers of classical Hollywood romcoms and classical mythology alike, one that's so fluffy and fun that it's hard not to get caught up its comedic stylings. This is an otome game where even the bad endings are frequently hysterical.

Now that a third of the game isn't enough to make my inner English teacher want to have someone at the publisher see me after class, I think there's a decent effort in Cupid Parasite. There's still typos which I'm becoming more sensitive to, and the controls are a bit irritating if you're trying to do anything beyond advancing text, but it's a unique take on the legends of Cupid.

But of all the ones I’ve played, and consider that includes every localized Otomate game so far, Cupid Parasite is the one that best embraces the absurdity of the situation. It gets absolutely bonkers, which makes it all the more amusing and appealing.

Cupid Parasite has one of the funniest stories in the otome genre. Graphically it is very nice and has a good soundtrack. Help these five boys in their search for love and learn the story of Cupid.

Cupid Parasite is one of the most engaging experiences I’ve ever had with an otome game. From my second playthrough to my fourth, I found myself shaking in my chair, wanting to know what would happen next. Its comedic romance kept me up until the late hours of the night, and I haven’t had a game that made me feel like this in quite a long time.

Cupid Parasite is an excellent representative of the otome genre, being, in general, lighter than the other Otomate works already released in the West. Even with some occasional problems, the visual novel has a unique and charming style that helps make a romantic comedy worth trying out.

In conclusion, this is a cute visual novel about love, perfect for something around Valentine’s Day. The price for this game is $49.99 USD, which is a little much when dealing with a visual novel with this much content. On one hand, this is a much more serious topic with a niche crowd that will appreciate it, but will take some convincing.

I haven’t played a visual novel that goes about its thing with quite so much glee in quite a long time. Comedy’s always hard to get right, especially when there’s an underlying subversive quality to it, but Cupid Parasite never falters. It tells a great story in there among the humour and backs it up with an impeccable style and verve. This is one of Otomate’s finest.
