Why play it

Join the pack, enter the pact and impose your law in a game of cunning and suspicion. Here, words are your sharpest weapon or your deadliest weakness. Manipulate, accuse, survive. The truth has never been so elusive.

Story and worldbuilding

Clairval.net is a multiplayer online social deduction game that plunges players into the heart of a late medieval village consumed by mistrust, superstition, and secrets. Spiritually inspired by genre classics like The Werewolves of Miller's Hollow Online, the game offers an intense, text-based experience focused on psychology, bluffing, and the art of persuasion. Each participant embodies a resident of Clairval with a secret role, ranging from innocent villagers and members of a bloodthirsty werewolf pack to solitary figures with obscure ambitions. Village life is dictated by the cycle of day and night: while the night is the stage for occult actions, visions, and mysterious murders, the day becomes the public arena for debates, rumors, and accusations. Without ever possessing the whole truth, players must decode silences, analyze votes, and unmask impostors before the pack devours the last survivors. Beyond the tension of the game tables, the persistent universe expands through Shires (guild system) and the Tavern, a central social hub where communities gather, organize, and extend the experience of this closed-door theater where every word can either save or condemn.
