Camper Van: Make it Home is squarely aimed at Unpacking fans: people who want the zen-filled joy of finding a home for a range of items. This time, though, you're dealing with the limited space of a camper van. It's great fun and it looks wonderful, but the fiddly controls and camera can sometimes take some of the meditative spirit away.

Camper Van – Make it Home doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it doesn’t need to. It takes a simple, satisfying concept and executes it with care, polish, and a genuine sense of warmth. It’s a game that understands the value of comfort, routine, and personal expression, and it delivers those things in spades. While it’s not without its flaws – the lack of player presence and narrative depth may leave some wanting – it more than makes up for it with its inviting atmosphere and satisfying gameplay loop. It’s the kind of game you can return to again and again, whenever you need a bit of digital escapism and a reminder that sometimes, the simplest pleasures are the best.

Camper Van: Make It Home is one of those games that you don’t expect until you play it. You start it up because you think the small van can hold some boxes. It makes you wonder why you can’t get rid of that one stupid souvenir from a trip you don’t even remember fondly.

Camper Van: Make it Home shares a main principle overarching in all video games: losing yourself in something. But the no-stress approach means that although it still requires concentration and effort, it's something you really want to do rather than something you have to do. In that context, the visual design is excellent, and the audio is almost perfection. Have a go, and like me, you might be surprised how quickly the outside world drowns out - and thus, in its own context, how fantastic of a game it is.

Camper Van Make it Home is recommended because it is a game made with love, designed for those who appreciate small details and a leisurely pace. It doesn't innovate in terms of gameplay, nor does it need to. It's a short experience, yes, but a comforting one. One of those that leaves a good memory without making a fuss.

Overall, Camper Van: Make it Home is a lot of fun. It’s cute, it’s cozy, and the premise is great. However, it didn’t quite feel done without a creative mode. It’s pretty short, but it’s one of those games you can play several times and still get the same relaxing vibes out of it that you did the first time. I enjoyed my time with Camper Van: Make it Home, but I’m not sure it is worth the price that players will need to pay for it.
