As a remaster, Reforged is about as good as it gets. It hits that perfect sweet spot where the game looks kinda like you remember it looking all those years ago, but then you have the option to switch back to the original graphics and see just how improved the new version actually is. It's a massive leap. There's also a robust and quite granular hint system to help you with puzzles that can be completely tailored to your playstyle, including a story mode that drastically revises how much thinking is required to progress. It's one of many reasons this remaster is perfect for newcomers and returning fans alike.

It looks fabulous, and everything that gave the original its appeal is intact. It hardly needs proving these days, but Shadow of the Templars: Reforged shows once again that nostalgia never gets old.

Shadow of the Templars: Reforged is simply a great game, with a great story, a great atmosphere, and on top of that, it’s really beautiful to look at. I dove right in after watching *Unbeatable Superman*, and at times I felt like I was literally playing a movie. All in all, this is the ultimate version of a great game, and it would be a huge shame to miss out on it.

Read full review ↗Despite not having played any Broken Sword games before, playing Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars – Reforged has made me incredibly excited for Parzival's Stone and hopefully there are plans to 'reforge’ Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror as well. Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars – Reforged is a timeless classic that has received a lick of paint. Sure, it feels a bit outdated in some respects but there will always be a place for games like this with modern gamers. Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars – Reforged remains a masterpiece and makes me proud to be British!
