Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game

Despite some puzzling omissions and a lackluster story mode, Avatar Legends is a fighting game fan's dream, with a diverse roster, an incredibly flexible combat system that rewards precision and creativity, and some of the coolest looking combos around.

But unless you’re really committed to mastering all of the mechanics here, it feels difficult to fully recommend in its current state – not because it’s a bad game, but it just lacks the polish and features you’d expect from a more fleshed out product.

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is a rock-solid fighter that manages to honor a beloved IP without compromising any of the sensibilities needed to succeed in this genre.

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game brings together characters from different points of the franchise for dynamic 2D fights.

While light on features, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is a solid 2D fighting title with fun & unique combat mechanics, clear love for the characters and source material, and has solid replayability on the online and competitive side of things.

The missing features might hurt another game much more but, Avatar Legends gameplay is so good that it still didn’t deter me from playing it a ton. Mechanically, I truly think it may be the best fighting game to come in a long time and if those issues get sorted soon, hopefully the game can see a long life cycle within the fighting game community.

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game focused on delivering solid gameplay and succeeded admirably. However, there are some flaws in its presentation that need attention, such as the animations and missing information across the various game modes. Overall, it is a decent title for fans of the elemental benders that guarantees a good dose of honest fun.

The fighting can be fun, but the roster is a mixed bag, the story a bit weak, and there's currently no ranked mode in multiplayer. Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is a good game, but it isn't a top tier fighting game.

With undeniably gorgeous looks, and fast and intense play, this is a distinctive fighter, it just does a terrible job of getting you properly up to speed with its unique mechanics and the CPU is an unapologetic ass-kicker

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game includes all the elements for a standout experience within the Avatar universe — excellent mechanics, a good roster, a solid roster, and attention to detail.
